Who Are Beta Squad? The Five of Us and How It Started
If you've ever lost an afternoon to a video where five friends try to outdo each other, there's a good chance it was us. But who are we, and how did it all start? Here's a quick guide for new viewers and longtime ones.
Who are Beta Squad?
We're a group of five British YouTubers: Chunkz, Niko Omilana, Sharky, AJ Shabeel and King Kenny. Each of us had a channel of our own first. Together we make challenges, pranks and guessing games, and the joke usually lands on whoever loses.
How did it start?
In February 2019 the five of us moved into a shared house and launched a joint channel. Early videos were challenges like trying to live on £1 for a day, and our solo channels grew right alongside the group one.
Why does it work?
It's the chemistry. Five friends, one idea and nobody willing to lose. Watching us should feel like being in the room when a group chat turns into a competition.
Wear it
